Heating Bildeston Questionnaire

 Heating Bildeston aims to install a heat network which will provide you with heat for your hot water and radiators that is both cheaper and better for our planet. As a community project, with the support of our village, we hope to:

- Save residents money with lower cost energy.

- Avoid heating cost fluctuation by using renewable energy.

- Reduce our carbon footprint to help combat climate temperature rise.

To start this project, we need to work out the best way to build the network. Our experts, Scene Connect Ltd, say we must ask you about your heating to understand our collective energy demand. So coming through your door is a questionnaire with 11 questions we'd like you to answer as fully as you can. You'll need to have your energy bills, for fuel and electricity, readily to hand.

By hand or online?

We'll be distributing the Questionnaire to every household in Bildeston - you'll need your fuel and electricity bills to the ready.

You can fill it in by hand and hand it in to us at Park House, 9-11 Duke Street, Bildeston (leave in the Foodbank Donations Box out front).

you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer, (click here if you haven't).  

When loaded, please save the Questionnnaire (Heating Bildeston Questionnaire_online.pdf), there's usually a save button at top right,

and then in File Explorer, usually in your downloads folder, double click it to open in Acrobat Reader.

Once it's loaded into Acrobat Reader, please fill it in, sign it (digitally, instructions happen when you try) and save it again. 

Then upload, usually from within your downloads folder. 

FAQs

Do I have to fill it in? -

No! It's up to you, but we'd really appeciate it if you can, as we hope we have convinced you that this an important project. Once started, you can also choose to withdraw from the project at any time. If you do decide to withdraw, you can withdraw some or all your data. Withdrawn data will then be destroyed and not used.

Why, what's the purpose? -

Heating Bildeston aims to save residents money, avoid heating cost fluctuation and reduce our carbon footprint. We're starting the project with this questionnaire.

To provide an accurate, reliable, and effective solution, Scene Connect needs to gather as much information as possible to get an idea of how electricity, heating, and fuel are currently being used. Your participation in this project has been requested so that our predictive computer models will be as robust as possible, allowing us to develop the most appropriate solution for our community.

What will it involve? -

To fill in the questionnaire, you'll need your fuel and electricity bills beside you. Beyond that,

your participation in this project will involve granting permission for Scene Connect to use your data about your building within their energy and financial computer models. It may mean granting permission for Scene to visit you to do a physical survey of your property at a time and date agreed with yourself. We would like to be able to talk further to you to develop the project.

What if something goes wrong? 

Scene Connect carries sufficient insurance to cover the cost of any injury or damage to property in the very unlikely event that this is caused by its activities.

Will my participation be kept confidential? 

Yes - all information collected about you and your household will be kept confidential. Your data will be pseudonymised with an ID code. The connection between you and this ID code is held separately from the data. Your consent form will not be used to identify you and will be filed separately from all other information. Data used for reporting will be aggregated and anonymised so it is not identifiable.
